If Scratch+Sniff has got you well and truly in to the clutches of perfumalia, here are some other places to explore. We cannot be held to blame if your addiction to scent reaches epic proportions.

Firstly, Basenotes is basically the largest directory of user generated reviews, forums and general information about perfume. They’re fab so head over there if you fancy finding out more on a perfume.

Then try the following, though there are dozens more wonderful blogs to find once you get going….

Perfumes: The Guide. Luca Turin and Tanya Sanchez’ epic compendium of brilliantly written perfume reviews (printed book).

Perfume Posse. Down to earth and  sassy. A very fun blog and directory of fragrance reviews, US based. We love their Perfume 101 page, a brilliant list of perfumes that a beginner should try, subjective, of course. Once you’ve done that, progress to Perfume 201.

Perfume Smellin Things. Really beautifully written reviews, quite hardcore, maybe one for those who are already knee-deep in the world of smell.

Bois de Jasmin. Lovely perfume blog which often evokes stories, myths, paintings, and films to bring its reviews and writeups to life.

Finally, it’s worth tracking down Scratch ‘n’ Sniff Cinema events. These are unrelated to ours, and are really good fun, involving watching films while smelling scented cards at appropriate moments throughout the action. The food experimentalist organisation, Bompas and Parr, sometimes hosts these.
